Finally!!... Yellow-striped Flutterer Dragonfly

A few days ago, I was absolutely delighted to finally capture a dragonfly on our Duranta bush. There are a few that hover around the backyard but never seem to stop for a rest, almost like they are taunting me. But this particular day, my patience paid off. I was able to capture a dragonfly on two occasions this day - in the afternoon it stopped to rest for quite some time (long enough for both Bec & I to take numerous shots).

Almost looks like it's fishing!!

An excellent capture, really clean cut and crisp. What makes you think he wasn't fishing. All dragon flies here in the UK go fishing every now and again !!! he he

I hope you can find the time to follow my photoblog

Awesome photography...do you mind if I ask you what lens you used. There is so much color, detail, and texture to these shots. They are super. Great job. genie

These are beautiful! Those dragon flies never seem to rest long enough for me to capture them with as much detail as you have here. Wonderful.
And I'll have to look for pictures of your violin....
